Pope Francis on Tuesday appointed Archbishop of Goa and Daman Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, the President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), as a member of the Section for Fundamental Issues of Evangelisation in the World (New Evangelisation) of the Dicastery for Evangelisation.
This section, headed by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, is responsible for overseeing the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025, also known as the Holy Year.
Earlier, Cardinal Ferrão was also appointed as the one of the members of Dicastery for Evangelization on October 7, 2022.
Pope Francis elevated Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão as Cardinal on August 27, 2022, and appointed as the Cardinal-Priest of Santa Maria in Via.
