The newly Renovated St John of God Church and adjoining structure was blessed by Archbishop of Goa Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao in the presence of Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes and the Diocesan Administrator Noel D’Costa.
In his message to the people Archbishop highlighted the selfless service of St John Of God to the poor and needy and reminded how this house has been used for such charitable services. He gave a brief history of the structure and how it was used. He appreciated the hard work put in by the Administrator, architects, engineers and their team assured the people that this house will be used for noble and spiritual purposes. He specially brought to the notice that the Art Exhibition will be the first event in this building, during the exposition. The Art Exhibition will be inaugurated on 17th November, 2024.
Later on the Auxiliary Bishop appreciated the hard work put in by the Administrator, architects, engineers and their team and hoped that that place will be of great service to the Church and the faithful.
The Administrator of the Archdiocese Fr. Noel brought to the fore the struggles one has to undergo to renovate such huge structures both financially and technically.
The blessing was followed by a formal function wherein people who contributed towards the renovation were felicitated. Assistant to the Administrator Fr Mario Souza, other priests and nuns, architects, engineers, workers and well wishers were also present on the occasion.
