MARGAO
The bus service along the Cavelossim-Carmona-Varca-Margao route continues to face challenges, leaving commuters struggling. Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz urged the government to streamline the service, highlighting issues like the last bus departing Margao at 6.30 pm, causing difficulties for office-goers and students.
Despite multiple meetings, the issue remains unresolved. Vaz met with transport officials and proposed solutions, with assurances of a meeting with bus operators to address concerns. Operators cite losses due to low passenger demand, with only nine buses currently plying the route.
Transport officials suggested deploying KTC buses or exploring the Mhaji bus scheme. However, a KTC service appears unlikely due to a bus shortage, with the situation possibly improving once electric buses arrive next year.
