IAS officer and Goa's Health and Education Secretary Nila Mohanan, as per recommendations for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training, New Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years.
The order was issued in the form of an office memorandum on Wednesday by Director J Srinivasan.
Mohanan joined the Goa government in September 2014 and has efficiently handled several prominent and important positions as the North Goa District Collector, Health Secretary, Women and Child Secretary and as the Education Secretary.
Presently, steering the state's Health Department through the woes of Covid-19 pandemic, Mohanan has displayed astute leadership skills. Under her supervision, the North Goa Collectorate won several top national honours in recognition of the e-service facilities provided to citizens including the Skoch Order-of-Merit Award 2018 and Skoch Gold Award 2018 in New Delhi.
