China Consul General’s Belagavi visit strengthens academic ties

In a significant step toward strengthening academic and industrial ties, Kong Xianhua, Consul-General at the Chinese Consulate in Mumbai, visited Belagavi on Tuesday. He participated in an event focused on fostering educational collaboration, cultural exchange, and industry dialogue between India and China.

Karnatak Law Society's Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT) hosted the event at its Silver Jubilee Auditorium, where Rajendra Belgaumkar, Chairman, Governing Council (Engineering), KLS GIT, warmly welcomed all participants.

Sudheendra Kulkarni, a staunch advocate for India-China relations, emphasised the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations. Ram Bhandare, Managing Director of AKP Ferrocast and Vice President of Karnatak Law Society, provided insights into Belagavi's industrial landscape, highlighting collaboration opportunities.

Delivering the keynote address, Kong Xianhua spoke on "What is China?"—offering valuable perspectives on China’s culture, economy, and global influence. Additionally, Yang Xiuhua, Education Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, elaborated on research opportunities, educational facilities, and potential collaborations.

The event witnessed participation from members of the Belgaum District Small Scale Industries Association (BDSSIA), the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries, the Belgaum Foundry Cluster, Laghu Udyog Bharati, and various industry professionals.

KLS GIT’s management, led by Principal Dr. M.S. Patil, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and attendees for making the event a success. This visit marks a pivotal moment in strengthening cross-cultural and industrial partnerships, inspiring students and faculty alike.
