Chief Minister Pramod Sawant lauded the public mandate that led to the resounding victory of the Mahayuti alliance in the just concluded Maharashtra general assembly elections. The polls, results of which were declared on Saturday, also saw BJP’s best-ever election performance in the State.
“I thank the people of Maharashtra for the decisive mandate to the BJP Mahayuti in the assembly election. The people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar besides dedicated karyakartas has reflected in this mandate,” Sawant said in a media statement after the announcement of the results, on Saturday.
Sawant was the only BJP leader from Goa to campaign in the Maharashtra elections and was listed among the top 10 star campaigners out of the 40 names of campaigners for the polls held on November 20.
Sawant added that Maharashtra did not see any development in the last 70 years until the Mahayuti alliance took over two and half years back.
“We have always focused on social welfare, human resources and all-round development. People have always wished for these. I am sure the Double Engine Sarkar will continue to work for Kisan Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Nari Shakti and Gareeb Kalyan along with the infrastructure development in the State,” he added.
BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade took to social media to congratulate the party for the victory. “This landslide victory reflects the unwavering trust of the people in the Mahayuti,” he added.
Reacting to the party’s loss in the Jharkhand polls, Chief Minister Sawant said they respect the people’s mandate.
He also hailed the efforts of the party leaders to reach out to the masses and put up a strong fight against their political rivals.
