PANAJI: Goa is now set to be known not just for its sun, sand and beaches, but also for its spiritual significance, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said as he flagging off Goa's first special train to Prayagraj this morning.
The special train for Mahakumbh takes the first batch of Goan devotees to the sacred place in Uttar Pradesh. Two more special trains scheduled to depart on February 13 and 21.
Sawant expressed pride in making this dream a reality for many Goans, especially those who had always wanted to attend the holy event.
He further assured that the government has made proper arrangements for transport and other facilities in Prayagraj to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for the devotees. He also praised the Uttar Pradesh government and its Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, for their excellent preparations and support for the travelers.
Sawant also mentioned that the next batches of devotees to Prayagraj can register by calling the provided number. He encouraged everyone interested to take advantage of this opportunity.
