CM showcases Goa’s waste management model at Western Zonal Council meeting

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant represented Goa at the 27th Meeting of the Western Zonal Council held in Pune on Saturday.

The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah. Key attendees included Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Praful Patel, and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with other ministers and officials.  

The council discussed crucial developmental priorities for the Western Zone, with a focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other sectors essential for regional growth and collaboration.  

During the session, Dr Sawant presented Goa’s successful Solid Waste Management model.

He highlighted its positive impact on the state and shared insights into Goa’s roadmap for future advancements in sustainable waste management.
