Every Christmas, people get together to celebrate the festival in their own unique way. For Alfwold Silveira, the only way he saw fit was to celebrate this season through music. So, he began prepping for it months in advance, sounding out bands, getting them to work on special Christmas gospel songs, ensuring that the concert flow was just right and now he is just waiting for the chance to see all this music touch his audience.
Alfie, as he is better known, called in popular rock pop band A26, gospel group Saved by Grace and funk and retro band Chrysalis. He will also be up on stage with his choir, the Adams Chorale for a special performance. The night promises to be great, with all of the groups working on Christmas songs, but in their own unique style and all in praise of Christ himself. This is not a night of carols, it’s a night of celebrating Christmas through song. Yes, there is a marked difference. What is also pertinent to note is that proceeds from the event go to a good cause, Sethu, the centre for child development.

The idea to have a multi genre Christmas concert came as an intention rather than an inspiration! Adams has been focusing more on dramatics in these past few years, hence we decided to highlight the M for Music in ADAMS. People across the globe celebrate Christmas in different ways, musicians too seek expression in a variety of genres. Adams seeks to emphasize that across all of them Christ is the reason for the season. As the lyrics of the song go, "I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way" ... So did our charitable intent. Having associated with Sethu a few years ago and knowing the wonderful work they do, we felt that Concert for the King would serve as a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the hands that shape and mould future generations.

For us at Saved by Grace, this is an opportunity for us to give praise and thanks to Jesus through His gift of music. We excited to be part of the show and looking forward to sharing the stage with some brilliant musicians and singers, Goa's best, together for the glory of God.

Ever so often it gives us a deep sense of satisfaction to be doing concerts like this. It's not so often as a commercial band that you get a chance to play carols too. It's also very rare for us to play alongside legends like Darryl, Sharon, Chrystal, Braz Gonsalves and the others. It's a great honour and we are doing his with all our hearts.
Lester Rodrigues, A26
Chrysalis is proud to be a part of the concert as we are grateful for what our God has done for us. As musicians we have found each other, and all that has happened because of the greater plan God has had for us. It is the least we can do as a band. Our talents have come from him and praising him is our way of saying thank you.
