Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has stated that once Congress party comes in power in Karnataka it will form a Mhadei Neeravari Nigam to give justice to the people of North Karnataka.
The Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka was speaking to media persons in Belagavi on Saturday.
Exhibiting strong confidence that Congress will form the next government in Karnataka with a clear majority, he said the Congress party will immediately resolve the Mhadei water diversion issue by forming a separate corporation.
He also criticised the BJP and right wing elements of politicising the ‘ban on Bajrang Dal issue stating that one cannot misuse the name of Gods and deities in causing ethnic disturbance and for gaining political mileage.
Stating that Congress party will form the next government in Karnataka by winning at least 140 seats, he criticised Prime Minister Modi by stating that it is not the double engine but double trouble governments in BJP ruled states.
“People of Karnataka are seeking freedom from the present BJP government,” he said.
Ramesh also stated that the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Rahul Gandhi has created a positive picture for Congress party.
“While Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted road shows in metro cities, the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Rahul Gandhi that went in small villages across the nation has created positive sentiments, courage and confidence among the people of the nation,” Ramesh added.
