An internal tussle in the State Congress party has spilled in the open with GPCC president, Amit Patkar and his predecessor and senior leader Girish Chodankar hurling indirect barbs at each other in the media.
Patkar said senior leaders of the party should be "responsible" when speaking from public platforms and adhere to party discipline.
He was responding to a media query over Chodankar's recent interview to a news channel where he reportedly cast aspersions on party leaders as 'compromised' and being used in the BJP internal tussle between Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Patkar, however, declined to make any further comment saying he had not seen the interview and was only told by a party colleague that Chodankar had made some statement.
"I will go through the video of his interview and will be able to comment further only after that," Patkar added.
Chodankar on the other hand said, he had not made any allegation against the GPCC chief in the interview but had commented generally against those who have compromised with the BJP against the principles and ideology of the party.
"Those who are really compromised have to give an explanation," Chodankar said.
