As Saxtti's lone Minister, Aleixo Sequeira, held his weekly darbar in his home constituency of Nuvem on Wednesday, the Environment Minister stated that the objective behind the exercise is to bring the government to the villages, as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Minister was in Nuvem as part of his weekly visits to villages in his home constituency. Sequeira’s weekly darbars in the villages of Nuvem have raised eyebrows in political circles, as he was already holding public interactions at the South District Collectorate every Friday.
“This is an attempt to help people and serve them better. This is the main reason I have started these interaction sessions in the villages of Nuvem constituency,” Sequeira said.
The next village to be visited by the Minister in Nuvem constituency is Nagoa.
He mentioned that people from Nuvem came with various issues for redress, including matters related to water supply and roads. “I have tried to address the problems. In cases where the presence of officials was required to resolve the issue, I have invited the people to attend my Friday darbar at the South District Collectorate to discuss the issues with officials,” he added.
