Delhi man held for abusing health staff

A 26-year-old man from New Delhi was arrested on chargesof abusing and threatening doctors and staff on duty at the North Goa DistrictHospital, Mapusa Police informed.

The accused, Kanish Behl, was later released on bail.

According to police, the accused and his wife had metwith an accident in the wee hours of Thursday and were shifted to the districthospital for treatment.

The accused apparently demanded a face mask from thehospital staff and then got into an argument with the staff on duty and abusedthem.

The accused also started video recording the event in thehospital which was objected to by the staff on duty.

The medical officer on duty lodged a complaint againstthe husband-duo at the Mapusa police station.

Mapusa police registered an offence under Sections 504,506 (ii) and 353 read with 34 of the IPC and section 4 of The Goa MedicareService Personnel and Medicare Service Institution (prevention of violence anddamage or loss to property act). PSI Anil Polekar is investigating further.
