DGP lauds Pilar Fathers' work  for development of humanity

Appreciating the efforts of the Society of Pilar in promoting the overall development of humanity, Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena has said the Pilar Fathers have been doing excellent work in the field of education, health and social work.

The DGP was addressing the Pilar Fathers during his visit to the Pilar Hillock on Tuesday on the occasion of the season of Christmas.

He was welcomed by Superior General of the Society of Pilar Fr Sebastiao Mascarenhas at the All India Mission Seminary and later visited the Seminary Chapel, the Pilar museum, the Monastery and the tomb of Venerable Fr Agnelo de Souza.

DGP Meena was apprised of the works of the Society of Pilar through a video presentation by the seminarians of the Mission Seminary.

In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the Society of Pilar in promoting the overall development of humanity.

DGP Meena said the Society of Pilar is doing excellent work and applauded the engagement of its members in the field of education, health and social work.

In his speech, he referred to his previous posting in Mizoram and said the people of Mizoram were honest and disciplined because of the influence of Christianity.

DGP Meena expressed his happiness to visit Pilar and described it as a place of culture, spirituality and harmony influenced by different religious traditions, adding that the heritage and identity of this place has to be preserved.

He appreciated the Society of Pilar for training the seminarians and called upon them to get ready to spread the message of love and brotherhood.

Speaking about the role of the Police, DGP Meena said the police have the best interest of all the people and will work to maintain peace and harmony in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, the Superior General Fr Sebastiao Mascarenhas said the Society of Pilar was founded to go out everywhere, especially to far-off places and witness to the love of God. He thanked the DGP for visiting the Pilar Hillock.
