The newly constituted Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has announced the appointment of Meghana Shetgaonkar as its director. The new department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities will begin operating independently from April 1, 2024, and reflects the government’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible society.
Shetgaonkar is entrusted with leading this department and driving initiatives that will empower and uplift persons with disabilities across Goa. The department will focus on implementing policies and programs that address the diverse needs of the disabled community, promoting accessibility, and fostering a more inclusive environment.
