The District Magistrate, South Goa, Ajit Roy, IAS has prohibited any person, agency or organisation from digging any road or a part thereof without the written permission of the District Magistrate, in the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District.
An order issued by the district Magistrate stated that any concerned person/agencies involved in currently dug up roads or parts thereof, are also ordered to restore them to normal condition with immediate effect.
The District Magistrate Roy further stated that all the police officers of the rank of Police Inspectors and above of South Goa District should ensure effective implementation of this order and if any person/agency/ organisation is found violating the order, appropriate action under section 188 of Indian Penal Code may be initiated against the same.
