After a video went viral of music and singing of songs on the fourth floor of the Hospicio South Goa District Hospital, the hospital administration has issued an advisory to the doctors occupying the fourth floor to ensure that the sound and noise should not travel outside their rooms.
The viral video had captured some persons singing songs inside their rooms as a result of which the noise could be heard outside.
When the media drew attention of the district Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Rajendra Borkar to shed light on the video, he said the rooms are occupied by doctors who have been drafted to the Hospital by the Goa Medical College and Hospital under the District Residential programme (DRP). “My inquiry has revealed that around 12 doctors, mostly hailing from outside the State are staying in the rooms provided by the hospital, since they have no other accommodation. When I checked up with the doctors on the video, they said they were watching songs when they also started singing the songs,” Dr Borkar.
Dr Borkar said the Hospital administration has no problem if the doctors were watching the songs or singing the songs, but they have been advised that the sound from their rooms should not travel outside since it is a hospital occupied by patients.
“The doctors are being deputed by the GMC as part the district residential programme. Presently, around 12 doctors are catering to the patients at the district hospital. Since they are mostly hailing from outside the State, we have provided them accommodation on the hospital fourth floor,” Dr Borkar added.
