Chairman of KLE Society and Chancellor of KLE Deemed University Dr Prabhakar Kore was felicitated on Monday in recognition of the honorary doctorate recently conferred on him by Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA for exemplary services in the field of promoting education, research and upliftment of society.
Dr Kore is the first Indian to be conferred with this degree by one of the oldest Universities in the world.
In his welcome address, registrar Dr Kothiwale outlined the immense contributions of Dr Kore to KLE and the society as a whole in multiple roles as social worker, politician and entrepreneur.
Vice Chancellor Dr Vivek Saoji highlighted the contributions of Dr Kore.
“Dr Kore has set high standards in academic institutes like J N Medical College, KLE Society, Hospital and the University by taking up difficult challenges at every step. It was due to his vision and commitment that KLE family has reached tremendous heights and set standards in health care and education,” Dr Saoji said.
Dr B S Kodkany, former director at KAHER, Dr H B Rajashekhar, Director, USM-KLE , Dr V D Patil, Dr S S Goudar, Mahantesh Koujalgi and others highlighted the achievements of the KLE family under the leadership of Dr Kore and shared nostalgic memories, as to how the KLE family could reach greater heights under the leadership of Dr Kore.
In his reply, Dr Kore expressed gratitude for the contribution of each and every member of the KLE family which he said has resulted in making brand KLE a global brand. He also said that his commitment for the betterment of the KLE group will continue unabated.
All the members of the board of management of KLE Society and all the faculty members of the university were present on this occasion.
