Drugs worth Rs 2.35 lakh seized in Corlim, 2 held

Old Goa Police arrested two persons and seized 2.35 kgs of ganja worth Rs 2.35 lakh after conducting a raid in Corlim.

Old Goa Police had received information from reliable sources that drugs would be smuggled near the railway bridge in Corlim on Friday night. Accordingly, a police team led by PSI Saish Bhonsle and Diptraj Gawde under the guidance of Police Inspector Satish Padwalkar, laid a trap at the scene.

As soon as suspects reached the scene, the police team nabbed him and took him into custody. During the search, 1.20 kg of ganja was found in the possession of suspect Neeraj Kumar Singh (38) a native of Bihar but residing at Marcela, and 1.15 kg of ganja was found in the possession of Upendra Ram (40), a native of Bihat but residing at Amona-Bicholim.

Both accused were later arrested in this connection and police are investigating the case.
