MAPUSA:
A 30-year-old man from Odisha was arrested by Mapusa police on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 85,000 in the parking lot of a college in Mapusa late Tuesday night.
According to reports, police received information that there would be a sale of drugs in the area and conducted a raid.
The accused, Ajaya Nayak, was nabbed for allegedly possessing 850 gms of ganja worth 85,000 and the drugs were seized from him.
He has been arrested under the NDPS Act and was later produced before a Mapusa court, where he was remanded to five days in custody.
The police team conducted the raid under the guidance of Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar.
