Comba ward of the Margao Municipal Council witnessed uproar on Tuesday after residents along with Ward councillor Shagun Dada Naik complained of indiscriminate dumping of waste in a residential locality.
A mound of garbage, including mixed green waste, has taken place at the ward along the narrow line.
Councillor Naik told the media that the waste dumping is the handiwork of people from outside the ward, including vendors selling tender coconuts.
“People from outside the ward are dumping waste here. This has to stop. When the local people are handing over their waste to the door-to-door waste collectors, outsiders prefer to dispose of the waste at the site,” Naik said, while making a fervent plea to the people to stop waste dumping at the site.
