The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that land grab accused Vikrant Shetty and Rajkumar Maithi have about Rs 7.31 crore in their bank accounts, seeking its probe.
Shetty and Maithi, who already have numerous FIRs registered against them by Goa Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), were arrested by the ED on February 16 for allegedly acquiring immovable properties through fraudulent means.
During the bail hearing before a local court on Wednesday, the ED sought to reject the applications while submitting that a probe into their financial transactions and other assets is ongoing.
The total amount was deposited into the respective bank accounts of the accused from the sale of plots allegedly illegally acquired by them, sources said.
