Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira expressed confidence that everything would go smoothly for the remainder of the Exposition.
Sequeira made the statement after a review meeting for the same was held at the Exposition Secretariat at Old Goa on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Sequeira informed, “The meeting was held to review the situation for the Christmas Midnight Mass (December 24), Shillong Choir performance (December 27), Midnight Mass (December 31) and closing ceremony (January 5). We are prepared for the same just like we delivered for the opening on November 21.”
“All aspects have been discussed including heightening of the security during these days and we will live upto the expectations,” Sequeira added.
“Till date, reviews have been excellent and it is our endeavour to improve further,” Sequeira stated and added that it is his duty to deliver on the responsibility entrusted.
Fr Henry Falcao said that the review meeting focussed on the movement of the people and the traffic, particularly on December 24 and December 27.
“On 24, there is the midnight mass followed by 3D projection show on the life of St Francis Xavier and on 27, there is performance of the Shillong Choir for which a huge crowd is expected,” Fr Falcao added.
When questioned about arrangements for the Shillong Choir event, Fr Falcao said that 5,000 chairs will be put which will be on first come first serve basis.
“If there is a spillover, then people will have to stand in areas including the maze structure and the road,” Fr Falcao said.
