Excellence in workplace safety recognised at awards ceremony

Companies excelling in safety management were honoured at a ceremony held this evening at a city hotel. The awards were presented by Sadanand Shet Tanavade, the Chief Guest and Rajya Sabha MP. The event was organised by the Green Triangle Society (GTS), an NGO.

The prestigious Gomantak Sarvochh Suraksha Award, Gomantak Uchh Suraksha Award, and Gomantak Suraksha Award were presented in four categories to companies from Goa.

Dr. Pradeep Padwal, Chairman of GTS, Manguirish Pai Raiker, Vice Chairman, and Anant Pangam, Chief Inspector of Factories and Secretary of GTS, were also present.

Suhas Naik, Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee, explained the selection process and announced the winners.

In his address, Sadanand Shet Tanavade praised GTS for hosting the event and encouraging industries to prioritise safety.

Tanavade emphasised that worker safety is essential for boosting company productivity and contributing to national development.

He also assured support in easing the operational challenges faced by companies, noting that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is committed to promoting the manufacturing sector.

The keynote address was delivered by Shrutin Ulman, Principal Scientist at the Phillips Research Centre in Bengaluru, who discussed the role of AI in safety management.

Dr Padwal and Manguirish Pai Raiker also shared their thoughts during the event, while Anant Pangam delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was smoothly conducted by Manish Shirwant.
