The Varsity is now awaiting directions from the Governor for further action.
Goa University Vice-Chancellor Harilal Menon confirmed that the fact-finding committee report has been submitted to the Governor and Chancellor.
"We are now awaiting further directions," Menon said.
According to the GU Registrar Sunder Dhuri, the report will now be presented before the university's Executive Council for further decisions or inquiries.
On Monday, the university suspended Assistant Professor Dr Pranav Naik from the School of Physical and Applied Sciences following allegations that he leaked an exam question paper to a student. Vice Chancellor Menon had directed the fact-finding committee to submit its report within 48 hours.
Earlier today, Goa Governor and University Pillai assured representatives of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Goa Unit and the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) that the matter is being taken seriously and strict action will follow. This assurance followed a formal memorandum submitted by NSUI Goa Unit Chief Naushad Chowdhari and IYC members, urging a thorough and impartial investigation.
