Fake video aimed to create unrest," says CM Sawant

Panaji:  Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the viral videos, circulated through social media are aimed to create unreat and disrupt the government. 


He said that the videos are politically motivated smear campaign to tarnish his and his government image.


He stated, “This video is a fake attempt to damage the good work of our government. Many people know who is behind this. These are just political motivated". 


He responded to various allegations include that of land grab, zuari land scam, job scam, etc.


“I have taken major steps, including forming the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate land grab.  So far, we have made 58 arrests and suspended six government officials,” he said. He noted that 99 properties, including government and foreign-owned assets, have been seized.


To ensure transparency in the recruitment process, government set up staff selection commission. 


Commenting on the Zuari land scam, Sawant said “I wasn’t even born when the Zuari land was allotted.  The land was communidade land sold for industrial use, and I have no involvement in it. Soon, the truth will come out about who is behind this and who is really benefiting from the scam.”
