Fans of late Comedian Selvy alias Mattaus Correia thronged the Pai Tiatrist Hall at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Sunday to pay their tributes to the renowned comedian who passed away last week after a brief illness.
A one-minute silence was observed by the audience to pay respect for the late comedian at the tiatr 8 Dis which was directed by Selvy.
The tiatr was staged at the Pai Tiatrist hall as per the wish of Selvy, who wanted to stage the show during his hospitalisation at the Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
Selvy’s son Myron told The Goan that his daddy wanted to attend his 8 Dis tiatr at the Ravindra Bhavan on July 31 before he passed away from this world.
“Daddy had even told the doctors at the GMC just to discharge him from the hospital so that he can attend today’s show. We have fulfilled his last wish by staging the show at the Ravindra Bhavan,” Myron said, adding ‘Daddy has entertained the people in his lifetime. I am sure he must be watching his tiatr from above’.
The troupe also paid their tributes to the late comedian, saying that God has taken Selvy back to him after his artistic work in this world.
