A Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) team conducted a surprise evening surveillance drive on eateries operating under unhygienic conditions in Salcete on Tuesday and ordered shut down of three premises.
The team of officials under the guidance of designated officer Richard Noronha and comprising Rajiv Korde, Amit M Mandrekar, Sneha S Naik, Abhishek V Naik, Ram Gaonkar and Sandeep Shelke conducted a surprise evening drive and found the units flouting the norms.
FDA Director Jyoti Sardesai informed that M/s Bangalore Iyengar cake house situated at Arlem-Fatorda was operating without a valid FSSAI RC/licence and under unhygienic conditions where goods worth Rs 2300 were confiscated and premises were shut down.
She said a restaurant, Ms Red carpet veg and non-veg restaurant at Aquem-Alto Margao and Ms Udupi Maruti darshini at Aquem-Alto Margao were found operating under unhygienic conditions. The premises were directed to shut down.
Also, the M/s Gokul Manufacturing unit at housing board Davorlim which was inspected earlier was re-inspected and found operating under unhygienic conditions without complying with earlier directives and sans a valid FSSAI RC/licence. The unit was shut down, Sardesai added.
