Follow safety and license conditions: Cops to cruise operators

Panaji:

With a rise in footfalls expected during the festive and peak tourist season, Panaji police held a crucial meeting with the cruise operators asking to strictly follow safety guidelines including adherence to music permission and verification of crew.

In the meeting held at Panaji police station today, SDPO Sudesh Naik asked the operators to ensure each of their crew members has undergone police verification.

Naik also instructed to obtain sound permission from competent authorities and stop playing music by 10 pm, failing which legal action will follow.

Information shared with the media also reveals that the cruise operators were asked to ensure all safety equipment on board in case of emergencies, check its condition as well maintain all other safety measures.

Staff enrolled for ticketing must be compulsorily enrolled with the tourism department, paying special attention to differently-abled clients,  no undue harassment to tourists and issuing genuine passes/tickets were among other advisories.
