The ‘Bhopal Peace Concert 2023’ which was staged at the Fr Agnel Sr Secondary School in Gandhinagar-Bhopal.

The management, students, and the staff of Fr Agnel Sr Secondary School in Gandhinagar-Bhopal staged the ‘Bhopal Peace Concert 2023’ at its school campus on November 24, as part of its silver jubilee year.
This maiden peace live concert, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Allan Tavares, ‘focused on the life of a girl child’, inspired the audience with an impactful message: “Say ‘Yes’ to peace amid every storm, say ‘Yes’ to peace and say ‘No’ to war and create a ‘safer world’ for girls and women.”
“This peace concert was composed and directed by Fr Tavares, assisted by Rev. Valerian Gracias and Simran Monica Sharma. Music was arranged and mastered by Maestro Rio Fernandes. This historical live concert was witnessed by the parents and benefactors of the school.
“Through a synergy of drama, poetry, songs, and dance, the event revealed the harsh realities of our society while still holding out hope. It also showed the potential of all people, including men, to rekindle and radiate the gift of peace,” said Fr Tavares.
“India is a land of Gods and Goddesses. Goddesses like Durga, Kali, Mata Mariyam are worshipped and celebrated. And, yet the girl child is discriminated as a second class citizen. The students displayed the priceless value of finding ‘peace’ amid every temptation and trial and amidst other storms that life throws at us.”
Amongst the dignitaries present included Kishor Kumar Choudhary (Director of Education, Assam), Dr Pawan Mishra (HOD Commerce Department, University of Barkatullah), Dr Rahul Parihar (Director of NSS University), Dr Kashyap (Controller of Examination, University of Barkatullah), Brijmohan Saxena (Joint Director, Education Department Bhopal), Dharmendra Sharma (Joint Director, Education Department Bhopal), Arvind Chorgore (Joint Director, Education Department Bhopal), Dr Mohan Singh Pawar (Dean and Principal, RKDF University, Bhopal), Rev. Fr Jude Antao (Provincial of Kolkata) and Fr Allan Noronha, (former provincial superior of Kolkata Province and former manager of Fr Agnel High School Bhopal, who is presently the coordinator of the legal cell of the Archdiocesan Board of Education).
