Raising serious concern with regard to the unregistered labour class in the State, the North District Magistrate North has directed all the labour contractors within its jurisdiction to submit details of the workers to the local police station.
In a press statement issued, the District Collector's office said that the order is to prevent danger to human life and to thwart and prevent illegal activities.
Those violating the order would face action under BNS.

The District Magistrate North has ordered the labour contractors from North Goa District to furnish the details of labourers working under their control to the local police station.
The District Magistrate issued this order to prevent danger to human life and to thwart and prevent illegal activities which will affect the security of the State and will create disturbance to public order & tranquillity.
Any contractor, or agency contravening the order will be held liable for punishment under Section 223 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
