The GCZMA officials have asked the Santa Cruz panchayat authorities to clear the debris dumped in the khazan field where the Panchayat Ghar has been proposed.
The directions were issued after the GCZMA held inspection of the area over complaints that the panchayat has not completely cleared the debris despite directions from GCZMA.
Later speaking to reporters, complainant Mariano Araujo informed that the GCZMA had directed the Santa Cruz panchayat to clear the debris dumped in the khazan field.
"However, the panchayat cleared only part of the debris and we again approached the GCZMA after which the inspection was held," Araujo informed.
"It is clearly seen that the debris is still present in the khazan and hence the GCZMA officials directed the panchayat to clear it," he further said.
Sarpanch Jennifer Oliveira said that the panchayat had cleared the area, twice in the past upon directions from the GCZMA and said that whatever debris that has remained will also be cleared.
