To provide additional 300 jobs by year-end

Total of 747 persons have been provided employment through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation in the last one-and-half year.
Additional 300 jobs will be provided till the end of this year, said joint Managing Director of GHRDC Narayan Navti while speaking to The Goan.
Navti said that the corporation has provided these jobs in the difficult period of the pandemic.
Many people have lost their jobs and several businesses have been affected by the lockdown and pandemic. During such a period the GHRDC has provided jobs to youths as security guards, housekeeping staff and clerks, said Navti.
Navti informed that from March 2020 till now the GHRDC has provided jobs as security guards to 410 boys and 87 girls. Besides, 250 have been employed as housekeeping staff and clerks, added Navti.
The GHRDC still continues with the recruitment process. “There are 6500 applications still pending with the GHRDC. After scrutiny and completion of oral interviews, additional 300 people will be taken under GHRDC,” said Navti.
The GHRDC imparts training to youth and then deploys them in various departments as per the requirement.
During the Covid times the work of GHRDC personnel in hospital as security guards, housekeeping and cleaning persons was applauded.
Many personnel attached to the corporation are also placed in private companies and hotels. The local youth with low educational qualifications are benefitting through the corporation.
