MARGAO: Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira took the platform of the Liberation Day official program at Marago to convey a message to the people of Goa that the arrangements put in place for the exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier shows how secular the government of Goa is.
The Salcete lone Minister further said that the exposition of Goencho Saib's relics has attracted people from all faith from across the country, again proving that India is a secular nation.
Addressing the gathering after inspecting the guard of honour, the Environment Minister said The Government of Goa under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant desires to ensure the upliftment of Goans along with the overall development of the state of Goa.
Saying the Chief Minister working tirelessly for the development of Goa and its people, Sequeira cited an example by highlighting the exposition of the Sacred Relics of Saint Francis Xavier. “People are saying that the arrangements under his leadership have never been seen before. He has left no stone unturned to ensure that all the necessary infrastructure was provided. He thought of the specially abled. He thought of the senior citizens. He thought of the walking pilgrims. He ensured the pilgrims that come by train to Karmali Railway Station be provide a shuttle bus service to the exposition site. The exposition in itself has shown how secular the government is”, he added.
Saying that students and youth are the wealth of the country and that the future of Goa and the Nation is in their hands, Sequeira advised the students “whatever you desire to undertake, leave no stone unturned to give your best, be serious and committed in whatever you do, perseverance is the secret to success. What your parents desire Our Prime Minister Desires Our Chief Minister desires is to see you happy and successful in life your success therefore would be the biggest reward to all of us”, he said.
