PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his guidance to accelerate State developmental works.
During his two-day visit in Delhi, Sawant met several Union Ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, MoEF&CC Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Health Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda.
During his meeting with PM Modi, Sawant briefed him on the initiatives undertaken by the Goa government and expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s continuous support. He also sought guidance to further accelerate Goa’s development.
In a meeting with Defence Minister, Singh assured him of speedy operationalization of the helicopter maintenance and repair unit at Honda, Sattari, a key project for Goa.
Sawant, along with Goa BJP President Damu Naik met Nadda and discussed about the ongoing “Sanghatan Parv” and strategies to strengthen the BJP’s presence in Goa to better serve the people.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sawant met Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah to update him on Goa’s progress and seek his guidance. He also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and reiterated Goa’s demand for a higher share of tax devolution under the 16th Finance Commission to boost the state’s development.
In addition, Sawant held a productive discussion with Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, requesting the removal of certain villages from the Eco-Sensitive Area notification and the early finalization of the Coastal Zone Management Plan 2019.
