PANAJI: Goa's first 50-bed integrated Ayurvedic and allopathic hospital at Bicholim is set to open in the coming four to five months, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced today.
The hospital, handed over by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to Deendayal Janaseva Pratisthan under its CSR initiative, will provide free treatment to economically weaker sections.
Sawant emphasized that this hospital aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access, allowing people to receive both Ayurvedic and allopathic care locally.
The facility apart from catering to the State population, will also provide treatment to neighbouring States like Maharashtra and Karnataka, Sawant said.
“This healthcare facility will serve not only locals but also tourists and those from neighbouring states,” he said.
The hospital has been funded with Rs 10.36 crore from IOCL and will feature a range of advanced medical services, including emergency care, diagnostic facilities, Panchakarma treatment rooms, specialized wards, operation theatres, and a dialysis unit. It will also provide a multi-purpose hall for medical seminars and public health programs.
