PANAJI:

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today announced the State government plans to have a primary health center in all 40 constituencies.

Speaking during a mega medical health camp organized in Mormugao, Rane also said that State needs additional 100 ambulances, out of which 10-12 will be reserved as cardiac ambulances.

Rane said that the medical camp concept is inspired by the Prime Minister’s Mann ki Baat concept and focus is on taking the preventive health care facilities to the doorstep of the people.

“The concept of the State is to have a Primary Health Centre in every constituency, whether bedded or non-bedded. Vasco needs to have a non-bedded PHC," he added.

The Health Minister said that more ambulances would be added to the fleet for coastal management, motorcycle ambulances will be upgraded and staff will be appointed.

Rane also highlighted the different types of surgeries available at GMC, like endoscopy, skull based surgery, gastroenterology, endoscopy, colonoscopy and different organ transplantation.

“BJP government is working for the people of Goa, and trying to fulfil whatever promises are given. Trying to reach out to the last person in the line is the policy of our party and we work towards it,” he said
