PANAJI: In lines with 'Vikasit Bharat 2047', Goa to draft a comprehensive vision document to achieve "Vikasit Goa 2037' with focus on key sectors like employment, environment, agriculture, human development etc.
Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Cabinet has decided to launch Vikasit Goa 2037 project and for which public suggestions would be invited.
He said that the State has roped in Hyderabad based Corporate Chanakya Services Pvt Ltd to draft the vision document.
Consultations will be conducted with experts, department heads, and stakeholders across sectors such as agriculture, economy, health, education, allied services, tourism, and the environment to gather insights aligned with these areas.
In yet another decision, Cabinet approved a proposal to lease out the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium to Dome Entertainment Pvt Ltd on a PPP model for a period of 10 years.
The state government expects to generate over Rs 25 lakh in monthly revenue from this agreement. As part of the deal, the stadium will be reserved for state government events free of charge, Sawant stated.
"This arrangement ensures the stadium remains accessible for state functions while also generating significant revenue for the state," he added.
The Cabinet also finalized the allocation of rules for the Department of Drinking Water. Details regarding these rules were not disclosed during the announcement.
