In another significant step towards ensuring the health and well-being of police personnel, the Goa Police received essential medical equipment under the ‘Swasth Police - Sashakt Police’ initiative to enhance emergency preparedness across North Goa police stations.
As part of this initiative, crucial medical devices, including blood pressure monitors, blood sugar testing kits, thermometers and other healthcare essentials, were distributed to 14 police stations in the district.
“The physical fitness of our force is paramount. With this equipment now available across police stations, our personnel can monitor their health regularly and they have been imparted training to handle these devices,” Director General of Police Alok Kumar said after being handed over the equipment.
To ensure effective utilisation, selected police personnel underwent hands-on training conducted by experts from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Bicholim and the Telemedicine Society of India (TSI), Goa Chapter. “This will enable real-time health assessment and emergency response within police stations,” the DGP added.
The collaborative effort of VIANAAR, IMA Bicholim and TSI comes after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the healthier police initiative on December 23, 2024.
