PANAJI: Ahead of the Exposition of the relics of St. Francis Xavier, Goa Police have beefed up security arrangements in Old Goa. The 45-days event will commence from tomorrow, November 21 and will run until January 05, 2025.
Addressing media persons, SP North Akshat Kaushal said that police are ramping up security measures to ensure a safe and incident-free event.
Close to 1,500 police personnel would be deployed throughout the Exposition in shift manner while 400 CCTVs have been installed to keep a close watch.
Additionally, watch towers have been set up, and a dedicated drone will be used to monitor the areas
He said that Metal detectors, including both door frame and hand-held devices, will be stationed at key points. Quick Response Teams will be on standby to respond swiftly to any incidents. .
Sand bunkers and signboards have also been put in place to guide attendees on Do's and Don't during the event.
Kaushal said that police are working closely with Church authorities and the Exposition Secretariat to ensure a smooth and secure event.
