The Goa government reinforced its commitment to AI and IT with the ‘Build with AI’ conference, hosted in collaboration with Google Developer Group Goa. Inaugurated by Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, the event brought together industry leaders, researchers, and students to explore AI’s potential.

Khaunte emphasised Goa’s vision to become a hub for AI-driven innovation, focusing on employment generation and digital transformation. He announced that around 241 government services would soon be accessible via WhatsApp, enhancing citizen convenience.

The conference received over 1,000 applications but was limited to 400-plus attendees. Google experts and industry leaders shared insights on AI’s impact across sectors like healthcare, finance, and education. The event, jointly organised by Google for Developers and GDG Goa, marked a milestone in fostering AI adoption.

Keynote speaker Siddharth Prakash of Google Cloud discussed AI’s role in India’s digital public infrastructure. Other speakers included D S Prashant, CEO of Goa’s Startup and IT Promotion Cell, and Nitin Kunkolienker, chairman of MAIT’s Advisory Council. Technical sessions covered AI deployment, real-time problem-solving, and designing AI systems, with experts from Google India leading discussions.

The event also facilitated networking among developers, researchers, and policymakers.

Khaunte highlighted the government’s digital initiatives, including AI-driven projects in governance, healthcare, and skilling. “We aim to create job providers, not just job seekers. AI integration will open new avenues for Goa’s economic growth,” he stated.
