Goa will once again take part in the 43rd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF), to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from November 14 to 27, 2024. This year’s theme for the IITF is ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’.
The Department of Information and Publicity (DIP), the State Government’s communication agency, will represent Goa at this prestigious event, along with various other states, Union Territories, and international participants. Besides DIP, other Goa departments, including Handicrafts, Textiles, and Coir; Goa Tourism Development Corporation; Department of Tourism; Goa Investment Promotion Board; Directorate of Planning, Statistics, and Evaluation; Goa State Biodiversity Board; Goa Waste Management Corporation; and the Department of Science, Technology, and Waste Management, will also showcase their work at the fair.
Dipak Bandekar, Director of the Department of Information and Publicity, will inaugurate the Goa Pavilion, which will cover 203 square metres in Hall No. 3. Designed to reflect this year’s theme, the pavilion will highlight Goa’s rich cuisine, the warm hospitality of its people, and the State’s recent developmental achievements through audiovisuals, posters, and photo displays. Key initiatives and activities by the State will also be featured.
Goan artisans, through the Departments of Handicrafts, Textiles, and Coir; the Goa Biodiversity Board; and the Department of Environment, Science, and Technology, will sell traditional Goan products, including GI-tagged items. The Goa Pavilion aims to promote only traditional Goan products throughout the fair, which ends on November 27, 2024, offering a unique opportunity for interaction between producers, buyers, and consumers.
A highlight of the Goa Pavilion will be daily performances by Goan artists.
