MARGAO: GOACAN has launched its Health & Sanitation Awareness Campaign on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day on Tuesday by giving a clarion call to consumers to Assert their Rights and Pursue Remedies.
The awareness action which was held at the Primary Health Centre Navelim had the participation of volunteers of Consumer Forums from Navelim, Velim, Cuncolim, Davorlim and Majorda.
The two-month long Consumer Awareness Campaign on Health & Sanitation which will have the participation of volunteers of the village based Consumer Forums and campus based Consumer Welfare Clubs will end on 19th November World Toilet Day.
During the Awareness Campaign, GOACAN will highlight the role of the Health & Sanitation related Committees functioning under the aegis of the Primary, Community & Urban Health Centres and the Village Panchayats & Municipal Councils so that they are effective in their functioning.
The awareness campaign will also focus on the websites of the Directorate of Health Services & National Health Mission along with the respective Health Centre components, Citizens Charters, Committee meeting minutes, staffing pattern and availability of funds.
