Goa's Ketan Naik clinched a bronze medal as part of the ongoing Food Drink & Hospitality Week organised by the International Salon Culinaire at Excel London.
The International Salon Culinaire is one of the most prestigious chef competitions in the world. For more than a century the competitions have been a platform for chefs of all levels, from aspiring young chefs in training, to experienced professionals who have already established themselves in their culinary careers. The event serves as a platform to highlight the gastronomic skills that the hospitality industry has to offer.
Ketan’s creations that wowed the judges included: Cured Salmon, Horseradish Foam, Pickles, Pressed chicken, Liver Parfait, Onion Bhaji, Vegetable Slaw, Curry Sauce, Coriander, Lemon Gel – a dish inspired by his grandmother, which the judges particularly loved.
Ketan who hails from Shirgao, showcased his culinary skills in the Salon Display category where participants get to feature a diverse range of static categories such as kitchen/larder, restaurant plates, and pastry. The Goan chef currently works for a private school in Stroud UK.
