Goan musicians open up online at 'The Warehouse Studio'

When the going gets tough, Goan musicians and entertainers get going, online and up front at ‘The Warehouse Studio’.

'The Warehouse Studio’ is a unique chat show, along the lines of the Late-Night TV, or even the Indian talk show Koffee with Karan to have hit Goa, which features stars from Goa’s entertainment industry.

The idea of this unique chat and music show has been a fallout of the current Covid pandemic, which led to in a virtual shut down of live music around the globe.

The concept took shape while two versatile musicians, Silvia Fernandes and Aurvile Rodrigues, the brains behind the show, were shooting a music video ‘So in love with you’ in May 2020.

'The Warehouse Studio’ is a chat show with artists who later jam up for a performance. The show gets candid with questions thrown at visiting guests about their day-to-day life, struggles, achievements as musicians/entertainers. 

The first guests featured at ‘The Warehouse Studio’ were the band ‘A26’, which provided rare backstage details about the band and its members, what do they do off stage and the atmosphere during practice sessions or while travelling for shows.

The entire production team of ‘The Warehouse Studio’ are musicians, closely connected with the entertainment industry in Goa.

“The Foremen Studio" Fatorda, comprising Josephfern D'Souza (Jojo), Sheldon Gomes, Edelbert Azaredo provided the videography & the entire Video editing of the episodes. Tennyson Rosa (De Rosa Events) offered his godown and his Deco setup, which matched the title of the show “The Warehouse Studio” informed Aurvile. 

Also assisting with the camera were Jesal Sequeira, Brendan Fernandes and Shugan Dias. While Rajiv Fernandes willingly offered his cameras and did the still photography, Aurvile’s brother, John Rodrigues, assisted with the art direction for the studio set.

The notable musicians are Frazer Pacheco (keyboards), Savio Bobo Fernandes (drums), Edelbert Azaredo (bass) and Marlon Dias (guitars) to form 'The Warehouse Band'.

While Ramprasad Adpaikar helped direct the first few shoots, Josephfern directed the rest. Fedora Gomes did the hair & makeup for the hosts and Melernie Mendes came on board and helped with the production.

Emcee Neeraj Aguiar and Pravas Ravi assisted Silvia Fernandes and Aurvile Rodrigues with the scripting of the show, while Lester Rodrigues Designed the logo. DJ Claudio agreed to do the animations for the video.

While Clive Dias (RT Sonics) and Byron Dias (Goa Decibles) handled the entire on location sound recording and provided their gear, the entire post audio mixing & mastering are done at Audio Masters  Recording Studio Margao by Aurvile.

Another musician and RTO officer, Nixon Soares, pitched with providing safety equipment for the shoot, keeping in mind the current Covid situation.

“We got onboard ‘Shoppers Paradise’ and 'Fitwell Tailors" from Margao to sponsor Silvia's and my wardrobe respectively, for the entire 12-episode shoot. 

Singer, actor and Mrs Goa Mrs Talent 'Mrs India South Zone' 2018 Silvia Fernandes, began her music career in 1999 and released her debut album ‘Unmasked’ in 2013. 

She has performed with international music stars, including Shaggy, Ottawan, Kaoma, Shreya Ghoshal, Eric Martin, while also performing overseas for some of the leading musicians. She has completed her 8th grade in performance vocals from Trinity Music school London and is currently learning to play the flute. She's also acted in Konkani & Marathi movies.

Aurvile Rodrigues has been in the music scene for the past three decades during which time he did vocals and also played drums for the band ‘Sky High’ and the rock band ‘Bad Blood’. He runs his own recording studio ‘Audio Masters’ and has been involved in over 300 Konkani albums. He has also sung the NBA India Games Song on Sony Ten Sports.
