Goan qualifies for South Asian Championship

Rujul Raju Nipanikar, a Class IX student of Dona Leonor Memorial High School in Porvorim has been selected to participate in South Asian Championship 2023 to be held at Sri Lanka in 2024. Bringing a proud moment to India, and to Goa, Rujul recalls how she participated in the National Performing Arts Championship 2023 (National Qualifier) organised by the Performing Arts Association of India and Dance Sports Association Bharat on May 21 in Goa.

The Performing Arts Association of India qualified with a silver medal and Rujul from Brittona studying in Dona Leonor Memorial High School, Porvorim was selected to represent India at the 3rd Mount Everest International Music and Dance Sports Championship held at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu in Nepal on June 26. She represented Goa and India in the sub-junior category at this international championship where she won the Bronze medal. She was one of the total 300-plus selected players participating from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Nurturing a dream to be a good artist, Rujul thanks Sudesh Salgaonkar, president of Goa Dance Sports Unit for mentoring her.

Good at sports and other extra-curricular activities, Rujul won the ‘Outstanding Sports Girl’ trophy at her school Dona Leonor Memorial High School in the academic year 2022-23. She won ‘Most Talented’ subtitle at Tiara Vista Fashion and Beauty Pageant on April 30 this year.
