BELAGAVI

Commuters from Goa can now reach their favourite shopping malls in the Tilakwadi area of Belagavi more easily, as the barricades at the busy First Railway Gate have been removed. This move has improved traffic flow and made travel smoother in the area.

The traffic police had placed these barricades nearly ten years ago, which had caused major inconvenience and traffic jams for daily commuters.

“These barricades were a constant problem, leading to delays and congestion. Their removal has made a big difference for Goans, local residents and business owners who use this road every day,” said an activist who had been leading a long campaign to have the barricades removed.

Shop owners, showroom staff and auto drivers nearby have welcomed the change, saying it will help bring things back to normal and reduce travel time.

Although the authorities have not officially said why the barricades were removed, sources suggest that the Second Railway Gate is being considered for a flyover project. Still, the development has been widely welcomed by locals and Goan commuters alike.
