In a bid to support individuals battling cancer, Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai distributed financial aid to 144 cancer patients from the Governor's discretionary funds today at the Old Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
This initiative is part of a broader effort announced by Governor Pillai, aimed at providing financial aid to people afflicted with various medical challenges, including dialysis and cancer treatments, on several occasions.
During the event, Governor Pillai highlighted the significance of these initiatives, noting that similar efforts have been adopted in other states to aid those in need. He commended the efforts of the Goa Raj Bhavan in extending financial assistance to vulnerable persons.
Highlighting advancements in cancer treatment, the Governor emphasised the widespread availability of effective treatments, with approximately 80% of patients experiencing rapid recovery. He underlined the need to boost the mental power of such patients and one should have faith in the medical system.
