Governor honours promoters of Konkani at Vocational Awards

Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai honoured individuals who have excelled in promoting the Konkani language across various fields at the Vocational Awards Ceremony organised by the Rotary Club of Mapusa Elegance in Panaji on Tuesday.

Addressing the audience, the Governor said that the Rotary Club is a service-oriented organisation that works for the welfare of society. He added that Rotary Clubs across the country create balanced programmes of service for the betterment of the common man. He commended the dedication of the members and congratulated the committee of the Rotary Club of Mapusa Elegance for their work.  

During the event, the Governor felicitated several individuals by presenting them with mementoes. The awardees included Amit Naik, Rapper; Gaudalupe Dias, Poet; Jennifer Fernando, Tiatr Artist; Kalidas Satardekar, Calligraphy Artist; Mansi Dhauskar, Sub Editor; Mukesh Ghatwal, Music Composer; Olavo Rodrigues, Singer; Dr Prakash Pariekar, Writer; Pramod Acharya, Journalist; Rajdeep Naik, Theatre Artist; Rudra Ghotge, Content Creator; Sobita Kudtarkar, Actress; and Uday Chari, RJ.  

Rtn. Sumedh Naik, Director of Vocational Services, spoke about the purpose of the vocational awards, highlighting their role in encouraging the promotion of the Konkani language across different professions.
