Govt disburses Rs 5 cr to farmers affected by unseasonal rains

Panaji: BJP spokesperson Premanand Mahambare announced today that the government has provided nearly Rs 5 crores in compensation to more than 580 farmers who suffered crop losses due to unseasonal rains. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural community, stating that even farmers without Krishi Cards have received assistance.

In addition to addressing agricultural issues, BJP spokesperson Yatish Naik addressed the state's infrastructure growth, particularly the recently approved ₹557-crore four-lane highway from Ponda to Bhoma. He stated that this project, aimed at improving connectivity and easing traffic, marks a major milestone in Goa's infrastructure development, made possible through the combined efforts of the central and state BJP governments.

Naik also noted that while several four-lane projects have been completed in other regions, Bhoma had yet to benefit from such development. He assured that public concerns will be addressed, emphasizing that the government has been transparent throughout the process, keeping residents informed through public notices and involving them at every stage.

Responding to criticism from the opposition, Mahambare dismissed the Congress' call for the dissolution of the Goa BJP government. He urged Congress to focus on internal challenges, such as the leadership issues in Karnataka, and reaffirmed that the BJP remains committed to Goa's progress.
